Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Morsi, Minister of Military Production, met with Mr Robert Valk, Founder and CEO of Green Tech Egypt, and his delegation to discuss the progress of their collaboration on establishing and operating Waste-to-Energy plants. This cooperation involves the Ministries of Environment and Local Development, as well as the Arab Organization for Industrialization. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Military Production’s headquarters.
During the discussion, Minister Morsi emphasized the political leadership’s strong interest in quickly implementing the strategy to convert municipal solid waste into energy. He noted that priority governorates had been identified for the system’s implementation. The Ministry of Military Production aims to leverage all available manufacturing, technological, and human resources to effectively manage and transform daily waste into smart energy solutions.
Mr Robert Valk, Founder and CEO Green Tech Egypt, presented the feasibility study conducted for the Shubramant and Abu Rawash sites, which are being prepared for project initiation. He also outlined the steps for establishing a joint-stock company to build and operate waste-to-energy plants, as agreed in a protocol signed with the Ministry of Military Production in October.
Mr Mohamed Eid Bakr, media advisor and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Military Production, stated that this meeting is part of a series of follow-up sessions on the Waste-to-Energy project. He highlighted that the project promises significant economic and environmental benefits for the country.
