Eng Mohamed Ahmed Morsi, Minister of Military Production, received Mr Robert Valk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Tech Egypt and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s General Office.
Minister Morsi indicated that this meeting comes intending to discuss the latest developments regarding the project to establish a plant to convert municipal solid waste into electrical energy in Abu Rawash area in Giza Governorate, and a proposal to contract with the concerned authorities to allocate the project land and purchase energy produced from the plant, stressing the efforts of the Ministry of Military Production to employ all the industrial, technological and human capabilities available to it to participate in the implementation of the municipal solid waste management system in cooperation with the various concerned authorities.
The Minister of Military Production stated that the ministry is keen to transfer modern technologies in the various fields of manufacturing within the companies and its affiliated units and to cooperate with national and international companies specialised in the field of waste management in implementing these types of projects to deepen local manufacturing, increase value-added, reduce import, and provide foreign currency in a way that enhances the national economy, emphasising the keenness of all parties involved in the system to implement it in an optimal manner that achieves the maximum benefit from the amount of waste generated daily and transforming waste in Egypt into smart energy solutions.
For his part, Mr Robert Valk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Tech Egypt, emphasised that the establishment of these plants will increase the added value of waste disposal and improve the environmental, health and living conditions of the Egyptian citizen, praising the great industrial, technological, technical, human and research capabilities of the military production companies. This paves the way for achieving fruitful cooperation.
The Media Adviser to the Minister of Military Production and the official spokesman for the ministry, Mohammad Eid Bakr, stated that the Ministry of Military Production is constantly seeking to integrate with the ministries, governorates and various authorities in a way that supports the comprehensive development strategies in the country, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to cooperate with its partners in various fields including The field of waste recycling and its conversion into energy-based on joint manufacturing and technology transfer.
