Attendees at this meeting included key figures such as Dr Mohamed Shaker, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; General Mohamed Salah, Minister of Military Production; Mr Robert Valk, CEO of Renergy Group Partners and Green Tech Egypt, the Project Implementing Company; Advisor Amjad Said, Legal Counsel to the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Engineer Alaa Hajar, Representative from the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in the Technical Office; and Engineer Mohamed Abu El-Naga, Advisor to the Ministry of Military Production.

As disclosed by Ambassador Nader Saad, the spokesperson for the Cabinet’s presidency, the meeting centred around Renergy Group Partners’ proposal to establish a mega green hydrogen plant via foreign direct investments. The proposed project boasts a capacity of 400 thousand tons per annum, drawing its energy needs exclusively from a 15-gigawatt solar power plant. Furthermore, the facility’s production of green hydrogen will be channelled entirely towards European markets, with the project’s financial objectives aiming to achieve an annual revenue of one billion dollars. Notably, this initiative is also expected to generate substantial employment opportunities.

It was emphasised that an upcoming phase will encompass an in-depth feasibility assessment of the project, followed by identifying an optimal site for its implementation. Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his approval of the project and emphasised the need for expediting practical assessments and investigations.
